Where to stay, you ask? There are many options available for Places to Stay in the area. From quaint Inns and B&Bs on the water, to hotels, motels, lodges, and of course Airbnbs/Vacation Rentals. With mountain views, rivers, and a lake, no matter where you stay, you are sure to have a view.
It's easy to get your Food & Drink fix with many dining options in the area, everything from BBQ to burgers, food trucks to markets, pizza to tacos - we have the entire alphabet of food choices and fun locations on the water with spectacular VIEWS!
There are many Things To Do in the area for couples, families, or a gathering of friends. Since we are so geared towards outdoors, we even welcome the pups in many locations. The two towns are connected, so it's easy to find something to do around every corner.
Hiking - wow! We have everything from easy, meandering hikes, to more difficult climbs and steep terrain. We also have North Carolina's #1 State Park - Chimney Rock State Park. There are many hikes and trails within our two towns, but just a short drive can take you to many other hiking locations. Check out the app, AllTrails for more info and maps.
Have you ever seen anything more beautiful than a mountain lake? If you want to get On the Water and see for yourself, or just slightly off the water, we have the Rocky Broad River and Lake Lure which embody our two towns. Rent a boat, rent a kayak, take a tour, or just stroll along the river bank and lake -- it's all right here in Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. Also, don't forget to get your NC fishing license to take advantage of some of the best inland fishing in the Carolina's.
The area is known for Events on a monthly basis. We have everything from festivals, to a farmers market, boat shows, and even a dance festival. Visit Chimney Rock Village and Lake Lure to experience its beautiful and friendly area packed with so many things to do along with stunning scenery. Who knows, you might even catch a film crew meandering around the area since it is home to filming locations from movies such as, Dirty Dancing, Thunder Road, Last of the Mohicans, Firestarter, My Fellow Americans, and Careful What You Wish For.
